Body Language

What makes each of us unique is not only our physical appearance, but also the language that we speak through our body, perceived by others. And now this language is captured by Swiss photographers, in an exhibition entitled "Body Language" that is currently being listend to at the Swiss Cultural Centre. The human gestures, interactions, social roles of intimacy, sex, etc, the body as a subject, provides a captivating representation of the inner identity and the outer translation. Several angles of the body has been studied in different throughout this exhibition. "Porn" by Anetta Mona Chisa and Lucia Tkacova, is a reenactment of pornographic poses that juxtapose familiar porn scenes with anti-erotic outfits; "They Have Lived in Our Neighbourhood for Many Years" by Urs Lüthi, are poses of a husband and a wife in their everyday life that illustrates a serenity of the androgynous couple. "I Don't Live There Anymore" by Ugo Rondinone, a self-portraits of the artist with his head made-up accordingly in creating realistic effect with women's bodies cut from magazines. If you are curious about this particular language spoken by these artists, you have a week left to study it before December 16th, 2012.
