Buran, the Russian word for Snowstorm or Blizzard, was a Soviet/Russian reusable spacecraft project that began 1974 and suspended in 1993. A response to the United States' NASA Space Shuttle program, the project was the largest and the most expensive one in the history of Soviet exploration. Inspired by the program, the Norwegian artist Børre Sæthre created his Buran installations that has a futuristic and mesmerizing science fiction movie feel. The combination of an architect, an artist, a writer, a scientist and a filmmaker, the artist certainly makes his installation an experience hard to forget. Presented earlier this year at Mudam in Luxembourg with his Wardenclyffe Tower, Sæthre will be revearling his new artworks at the Loevenbruck gallery this Friday. His exhibition in the City of Light will end on October 13th, 2012.
