Carbon has always been used as a drawing materials for artists. It is also known to be the fundamental element of life as well as the main cause of the greenhouse effect. Fondation EDF, the French Electricity company Foundation, in collaboration with the British association Cape Farewell's project by the artist David Buckland, constituted five teams of artists and scientists, aiming to build a bridge between contemporary art and climatology with this extraordinary exhibition. Different artworks representing the biodiversity in the exhibition evoke land, air and sea, which are vital to all of us living organism on this planet. There are several themes to illustrate the complexity of climate change and to help us understand better the cause behind the global warming in the recent years: Technologies of Maritime Energy, Atmospheric Volatility, The Damage to the Biodiversity of Forests and Maritime Pollution. A great exhibition until September 16th, 2012, for the whole family to enjoy.
