Sonia Delaunay, the French abstraction pioneer and painter, famous for her use of strong colors and geometric shapes, is now being honored by the museum des Arts décoratifs in Paris for her fabric research project work exploring lightings, color movements and their simultaneous contrast. Over ten of her drawings have been presented at this exhibition entitled "Tissus simultanés de Sonia Delaunay: dessins en couleur "(Simultanous Fabrics of Sonida Delaunay: drawings in color) that were actually offered to the museum by the artist herself in 1966. Drawing studies such as her vertical herringbones, alternated decors, wide bands, subtle diagonals, etc, are all part of this rarely shown exhibition to the public. If you are a fan of geometric design, this is definitely an experience not to be missed before July 3rd, 2012.
