The world famous opera L'Opéra National de Paris and the BnF (the French National Library) are currently tracing back the odyssey of some of its most proud stage costumes designed and created at different ateliers by great artists and fashion designers from the 20th century. The designers such as Jean Bérain, Ezio Frigerio or more famous ones of our days like Christian Lacroix and Jean Cocteau, all had the passion for costumes dated back two centuries ago where theaters had a huge following across Europe. Over time, the atelier had to adapt to the new fashion trends, the new textile, the new techniques as well as the new technologies; consequently, more spectacular outfits had been created to match the imaginations of different theatrical pieces. If you were a regular fan of theaters, this is definitely a treat to see the outfits of your favorite characters on stage up close! So don't miss it before September 30th, 2012.
