Culinary Seduction

Food is not simply food here in France. It is also a conversation that we the French love to talk about while at dinner table on a daily basis. No wonder the French cuisine is considered the gourmand cooking around the world. However, we are not the only people who are passionate about food on this planet. The Chinese are also renown for their cuisine dated back 7000 years now! It is not just in the taste of the food itself, it is also in its presentation in appropriate objects that create the whole seductive atmosphere to tease the appetite. Now there is an exhibition at the Parisian anthropology museum Musée du quai Branly called "Les Séductions du Palais (The Seductions of the Palace)" to show the evolution and the seductive culinary art of the Chinese Cooking and Eating over time. Divided into two sections, the first takes us into the Chinese culinary histories themselves as well as their objects through different dynasties; the second explains its world expansion thanks to their tea, noodles, wok, etc, in the Western world over the centuries. If you love Chinese food, why not go and check it out before September 30th, 2012. So next time when you eat your noodles, you'll have a better idea where they were from originally.
