Since the 16th century, thousands of French songs have been composed and sang about PARIS that some of them actually became songs that everyone knows and can sing along. What kind of images of Paris had these songs told us about the real and the imaginary life in the City of Light? And what are these songs usually about? Well, of course, Paris and Love, according to George Gershwin. And of course, they also had to be along the Seine River to expression their sentiments and in neighborhoods such as the famous Montmartre, Pigalle, Bastille, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, to allow the lyrics of the songs to paint the atmosphere and the surroundings. This is the first ever audiovisual exhibition that combines photography, posters, disks, books, manuscripts and archives to tell a story and reveal a history of the world renown City of Lights. If you can't make it here to hear them, you can click here to hear and discover some of the most famous French songs in an interactive Parisian map.
