Taxidermal

Animals have been the inspiration for many designers and contemporary artists over the years.  Now there is a photo exhibition entitled "Taxidermie, dans les coulisses du Musée (Taxidermy, in the backstage of the museum) that reveals what most people don't usually see behind these animals in display through the work of a taxidermist Jack Thiney and captured by the photographer Jacques Vekemas. The twenty selected photographs are exhibited in the garden of the Botanical Museum paying tribute to the delicated work of taxidermy.  The exhibition shows the step by step complication and precision required to give the animals their natural allure. It might be a little uncomfortable for animal l overs but is definitely a rare opportunity to witness what goes beyond the reconstruction of these creatures.  The exhibition is open to the public until March 21st, 2012.
