Films have become a huge part of the world culture today that allow us to travel and to dream. Independent films, in the last decade, have also started to gain followers from the mainstream moviegoers. Movies are extremely popular here in France that the regional councils have decided to start an indie film festival in 2009 which offers everyone to watch the films for FREE during a week projection at different regional movie theaters. This year's theme: "étoiles francophones (Francophone stars)" featuring French speaking films from around the world such as from Haiti, Cambodia, Egypt, etc. Not only that, this festival gives you the chance to meet with the directors and the casts to discuss and debate beyond the stories. If you are interested, here is the list of the theaters in the Greater Parisian area where you can enjoy some of the movies:
