L'Hôtel Particulier

L'Hôtel Particulier, is NOT a hotel nor a particular type of hotel.  It is a French term that describes a Mansion or a Town House.  The Parisian mansion made its first appearance in the Middle Ages and became popular in the 16th century thanks to François I.  The last of the mansions were built in between the two World Wars which ended its golden age in four centuries.  Most of the mansions that still exist today in Paris are mainly used as museums, embassies or ministries.  This exhibition aims to explore its history and let visitors discover the secrets of these impressive Parisian town houses. The exhibition will end on February 19th, 2012, and if the gold French style is your style, this is definitely the place to enjoy.
