Entre / Between

Conceptual and media art have been popularized today thanks to one of the Spanish pioneers Antoni Muntadas. Four decades of actions, video, photography, multi-media installations, publications, public art, internet and radio addressing social and political issues of our time, are now shown to the public collectively at the Parisian contemporary art centre Jeu de Paume. The incisive works of the artist have addressed the relationship between public and private, the flows of information through the media, the inherent power of architecture and social frameworks. In the 80s he challenged audiences to consider "What are we looking at?," followed by his ongoing series of On Translation which wrestles cultural interpretation we might all have experienced through traveling. A debate on the visible and invisible power system in a society dominated more and more today by the mass media, hyper consumption and ever-advancing technologies. If you think you are ready to hear what he has to say, you only have ten days left until January 20th, 2013.
