In case you haven't met Elliott, one of the most famous American photographers of the 20th century, is currently being honored here in Paris. Grew up in Italy, German and France, the young Elliot Erwitt went to America with his Russian Jewish parents and fell in love with photography and his subjects around him ever since he was a child. In a way, Erwitt is the American version of our French Robert Doisneau (see our previous post here) who captures everyday simple ordinary situation of our lives. Entitled "Personal Best / Personal Choice," over eighty of Erwitt's best clichés are being showcased at Elephant Paname with the photographer's autograph session between 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm last Saturday in person. If you missed the rare opportunity, you still have plenty of time to discovery and to enjoy the Magnum Photos alumni until January 13th, 2013.
