Paris 20K

Paris is not only about fashion, shopping, cuisines, monuments and the oh la la. It is also about marathon along the world's famous Seine River that divides the Left and Right Banks. Yesterday marked the 34th edition of the Paris 20K Marathon which started at 10:00 am on the Pont d'Iéna right in front of the Eiffel Tower. This is a historic event here in our city since October 28th, 1979 at 1:00pm where 8000 runners participated the very first marathon and the event has never stopped since then. Some vintage photos here can be seen on the official website. This year there were 25000 braved runners who made it across the Seine River under the heavy cold rain and we are sharing with you here some of the close-up highlight photos of the event. Interested to participate next year? You can register here and we look forward to seeing you in the next edition!

We followed and encouraged the runners under the heavy rain

Many Parisians actually took the metro in the early morning to take part in the event
The bridge (pont) d'Iéna was completed backed up right before the marathon
