Fashion Impressionism

When we talk about the Impressionism, we often only associate it with the landscapes and the particular lighting style in the paintings that reflects that era in our history. Did you know that fashion, as we know it today, was also born in that same impressionist society? The famous Parisian d'Orsay museum is currently confirming our statement with the exhibition "L'Impressionnism et la Mode (The Impressionism and Fashion)"where over forty garments and accessories from 1860-1885 are being showcased along with paintings depicting costumes from that era. It was also during that time came the birth of the "department stores" of today. Fabrics, textures, shapes, prints, details, accessories were all carefully constructed as well as every single look for different hours of the day. If you are a fashion junkie like we are, this is definitely a fun exhibition not to be missed before January 20th, 2013.
