Pretty much all the little girls (and some little boys) had dolls when they were little. Certain dolls are almost inseparable to some of us even as adults. If that's you reading this, the City of Light definitely has something to get you excited this summer. Paris is world famous for its museums and believe it or not, there IS also a Doll Museum (musée de la Poupée - see it's location here)! They have a permanent collection of dolls from 1800 to 1959 explaining the history of dolls as children's toys as well as its technical revolutions and adaptations to kids over time. Other than the permanent collection, the museum is currently exhibiting French "Baby-boom" dolls from 1960 to 1979 with famous brands at the time such as Bella, Gégé, Nobel Clondrey, etc. Over 200 pieces are presented from the Generation X era of our time. Aside from the baby-booms, the museum is showcasing rare dolls "Made in Italy" from 1880 to 1979 as a bonus to doll lovers allowing them to compare the different types of dolls created in Italy back in the days. Both temporary collections will end on September 22nd, 2012. Are you still young at heart? This is definitely an exhibition to bring back some good old memories.
