Do you know the Queen of Paris ? If you don't, meet Misia Godebska. So who is this Misia that makes her the Queen of Paris? This is what the Parisian museum Musée d'Orsay is currently featuring her story. A legendary figure of the French art scene in the Belle Epoque, Misia was a talented pianist who married to the editor of the journal La Revue Blanche (the White Magazine), Thadée Natanson. Thanks to her husband, she was introduced to the booming art world of the late 18th century and became one of the most sought-after portrait models. She was like the Kate Moss of her time who appeared everywhere. Artists such as Bonnard, Vuillard, Vallotton and Renoir were all seduced by her beauty. Aside from being just a model, she was also friends with Cocteau, Chanel, Nijinsky, and many other celebrities of the Belle epoque. The exhibition brings together her portraits, her entourage, her works and shows how a pianist came to become the queen of the City of Light.
