Yes, it was that time of the year again - Gay Pride Parade 2012 took place on the streets of Paris last Saturday. Here in the City of Light, we the French are just as proud as everyone else to walk down the streets to show our pride and love. The first March started in 1969 in the United States and it finally started here in Paris following the decriminalization of being homosexuality in 1981 with the president François Mitterand. But we had to wait till the mid 90s before other French cities joined and started their annual parade as well. In 1994, Marseille and Rennes started their walk; in 1995, Nantes, Montpellier, Toulouse; in 1996, Lyon, Lille, Bordeaux, Grenoble, Cannes, Aix-en-Provence; in 2000, Rouen, Angers, Poitiers; in 2001, Caen; in 2002, Strasbourg, Reims; in 2003, Metz; in 2004, Nancy, Nice; in 2006, Tours and in 2011, Le Mans. This year's parade in Paris focused mostly on the legalization of the same-sex marriage in France and the same-sex couple adoption, which we hope the laws to be passed soon with our new president François Hollande. We hope you all had the chance to walk your own parade like we did and we are sharing with you some of the highlights this year.

This was the Pride Walk version 30 years later in June 2012
There were even rainbow coloured Twizy cars in the city to celebrate the event
The parade ended at the Bastille as usual
