Environmentally friendly has been the trend in the last few years around the globe. We are all getting more and more conscious about the impact of the things we eat and do in our daily life to our planet Earth. As one of the trend setters in fashion, Paris is no exception to this important issue. In 2007, the City of Light had decided to introduce a revolutionary city bike that allows Parisians and tourists to go around the city easily and quickly without having to wait for the taxi, the metro, the bus, nor the walking. The bike Vélib' was born since then. From the French words Vélo (bicycle) and liberté (freedom), it sure is a cheap and great idea to reduce the pollution while enjoy the city from a different perspective. Parisians and tourists have all adapted to this new idea for 5 years now and to celebrate its 5th anniversary, there will be a festival loop relay of 600 meters (around 0.3 miles only) set up on one of the world's most beautiful avenues - the Champs-Elysees - this coming weekend, from Saturday June 23rd, 2012, at 3:00 pm till 8:00 pm on Sunday June 24th, 2012. Anyone can enter to participate the relay and you simply register on their facebook page here. The objective is to raise money for three charity associations by completing 20000 km (around 10800 miles) with 400 vélibs. Do you think you are up for the challenge? Why not go and join us the Parisians for a fun weekend while seeing your Arc de Triomphe from an angle that you don't normally get to see? If you would like to find the closest vélib station near you, you can easily find it here. Have fun biking!
