Eugene's PARIS

PARIS, our City of Light, has been photographed over and over for more than a century and it continues to fascinate people around the world with their lenses. What was Paris like back in the late 1800s and early 1900s ? It has not always been what it is as we know it today under the eyes of Eugene Atget. Over 230 photographs, Atget tells the evolution story and lives of different streets of Paris. As part of this exhibition, there are also 43 prints from the personal collection of the famous American painter/photographer Man Ray in the 1920s, reveals the influence of Atget on the Surrealistm started in that era. It  will be interesting to see what Paris was back then and then try to find the same angel captured by Atget today. If you are up for the challenge, you have time until July 29th, 2012.
