The Shamanism is the latest exhibition that is currently under study at the Parisian anthropology museum le quai Branly. Entitled "Les Maîtres du Désordre (The Masters of Disorder)," the exhibition showcases over 300 ethnological objects and 20 contemporary ones that evoke the world of disorder. Divided into three sections, the first section examines the world disorder caused by the wars, the epidemics and the natural disasters. To fight against these supernatural evil forces, human races created masks and various protective objects in the hope to prevent the harm; the second section is devoted to the disorder control. Rituals from different tribes and communities such as dances, sculptures and chants, as negotiation with the evil spirit; the third section is on the catharsis to purify and to disguise with a huge steel tube covered with white plaques symbolizing the inner body to give an experimental experience to the visitors. Several contemporary art pieces done by famous French artists such as Annette Messager, Jean-Michel Alberola, Thomas Hirschhorn, are also presented in this exhibition to show the continuous influence of the disorder in the contemporary world we live today. You have time to be disordered until July 29th, 2012.
