J-6

French presidential election is finally coming to an end. Yesterday the ten candidates all had their electoral meetings around the City of Lights for one last persuasion before the first around election on Sunday, April 22nd, 2012. In French we call that the Jour J (the day J - J stands for Jour (THE day)) and today we would call J-6 which means that there are still 6 more days to go before the big day. For those of you who are not familiar with our system, there is a first round voting with two winners before a second and final round voting in May. In yesterday's French newspaper Le Monde, we've found this very funny and interesting advertisement to share with you here showing six of the key candidates photoshopped in this ad campaign from SOS Homoparentalité (SOS Gay Parenting). If you like to support the association,  you can go to their site directly here. It is sad to learn that in 2012, there are still many people who do not believe that gay couples can also be great parents and this colorful advertisement hopefully will help to raise awareness and reach out to more people around the world. Please feel free to share this post with people and we hope that our next Président de la République (The President of the (French) Republic) will also do the right thing to support this reality in our society today.

This is with the current French president Sarkozy
It says that "Nicolas (Sarkozy) could've also had two lesbian mothers"
"And he could've also been happy"
and the message at the bottom says
"In France, 300000 children have gay parents.
They have the right to have the same protection as others.
France should recognize the gay parent families."
This is with the socialist party leader François Hollande
Another candidat François Bayrou who was in the running in 2007 election as well
This is with the ecological party candidate Eva Joly with two daddies
