Joyful Art

In today's economic climate, it is comforting to see some paintings that shows some optimism for the future.  Indian artist, Revati Gangal, is the woman we should all look up to for this year ahead.  Born in Mumbai, the young artist, specializing in portraits, has won numerous prizes and distinctions in the past.  What is interesting about her painting is that mixture of exuberant and restrained elements where her characters are often held in a meditative calm with a rather joyful and colourful surroundings filled with patterns.  If you look closely at her paintings, they look as if they were textiles filled with that hippy mellow love and peace universe. The naive expression of her painting sure is a great source of optimism to have from time to time.  Feeling down lately?  You have her until March 9th, 2012, to boost your inner optimistic energy.
