Pure white, Coloured, Transparent, Oiled, Cut-out, Ripped..., PAPER as we know today has been playing an important role in history as a base for creating millions of amazing drawings/paintings by artists. The museum Le Louvre has created this temporary exhibition, assembled around 60 paintings, from 15th century to today, to show us just how a simple piece of paper has been used and reused in all different manipulations. You can find works from Botticelli, Degas, Robert Barry, Lavinia Fontana, Braque, Picasso, Matisse, Claude Viallat, François Rouan, Miquel Barcelo and Christian Jaccard at the exhibition. If you have not done so, you have it till September 5th. Next time when you look at a plain piece of paper, maybe you'll also be inspired like all the artists.
Here is a video showing Christian Jaccard at work - amazing
