Paris Tramway

Contemporary art is indeed everywhere in Paris. You probably have already seen at certain subway stations in our city and that has continued with the new tramway constructions around the City of Light. The recent exhibition, entitled "Les artistes et le tramway de Paris," shows just how our city has made it possible to combine art and urbanization. It traces back the history and propositions of the tramway T3 between the station Porte d'Ivry (south east of Paris) and Porte de la Chapelle (north east of Paris) covering 14.5 kilometers (around 9 miles) of distance. Artists who made the T3 project possible include Didier Marcel, Nancy Rubins, Sylvie Auvray, to just name a few. Thanks to these talented artists, public spaces in our city have also become a source of inspiration, of poetry, of beauty which allow thousands of Parisian commuters to enjoy everyday as well as for tourists to discover. Following the success of the exhibition here in Paris, it will be exhibiting at MAMCO in Geneva from February 19th until May 5th, 2013.
