Everyone knows who Van Gogh is, well, pretty much most of us do. But it is certain that very few know who Hiroshige is. So what does Van Gogh have to do with Hiroshige? The Parisian Pinacotheque is currently showing just how closely the Japanese Art of Hiroshige influenced the Dutch artist who was often criticized as a delusional, bipolar and schizophrenic character. The exhibition "Van Gogh, rĂªves de Japon, " illustrates Van Gogh's references from an art whose philosophy rests upon serenity, solidity, composition, inner peace and travel. In order to draw the parallel, the exhibition "Hiroshige, l'art du voyage" is also being presented together to the public so that we can understand better the Dutch artist and his inspiration. Forty landscapes of Van Gogh's time in Paris are being showcased until March 17th, 2013. Are you dreaming of Japan as well? Why not come and dream with Van Gosh ?
