MATISSE world

Spring is here and it's nice to see some beautiful colors again from our famous painter Henri Matisse at the Centre Pompidou. Matisse masterpieces are renown worldwide but this exhibition brings a new perspective to his work and the painstaking creative process behind those simple shapes and striking colors that are the trademark of the master. It takes us a second to see and to judge a painting but most people do not realize the time it takes for that painting to reach the eyes of the general public because of the perfectionist nature of many artists. Matisse was one of them. He was obsessive, worried and doubted constantly from the beginning to the end, which shows through his constant multiplication and exploration. This exhibition has over 60 paintings and 30 drawings which include the emblematic "Blue Nude" cut-paper series from 1952. If you are interested to discover the insight of his creative process, this is definitely an exhibition not to be missed before June 18th, 2012.
