Perhaps the name Helmut Newton (born Helmut Neusträdter) might not sound familiar to many people out there but his erotically charged, sexually provocative black and white photos certainly have been a déjà vu to most. The German-Austrian fashion photographer settled in Paris in 1961 and whose work had appeared numerous times in many international Vogue in Australian, Germany, British, as well as the French Vogue edition. Father of Porno-Chic, his sado-masochistically stylized scenes usually put women in a position that makes us want to find out more about them and what they were thinking and doing while the photos were taken. His women always seem to be in control and their emotions are nicely captured under Newton's lens. Passed away in 2004, Paris' Grand Palais is now paying a tribute, the first in France, to Newton's influence in fashion and photography, until June 17th, 2012. Are you erotically newtonic? Why not go and figure that one out in your own private time! And if you are stopping by Berlin, you can also check Newton's foundation here.
