Monuments and buildings might be old in Paris but there are actually many advanced technologies in the City of Lights that many tourists might not known much about or read about in their old guide books. One of the latest cool inventions in this fashion capital is the launch of electric car sharing called Autolib' after the success of the Velib' (public bicycle sharing) back in 2007. Autolib' stands for Automobile Liberté and it is a great solution for people who live in big cities but don't necessary need nor can afford a car on a regular basis to rent whenever they do. It is also a good way to reduce some of the traffic and parking problems. Three months after its launch, there are already more than 2800 people registered on the site and 1000 cars parked around Paris ready to be served as a new public transportation. No more tedious and expensive car rental services. Autolib' does not pollute nor requires you to refill the tank when you return it and it is totally silent when you drive. It might not be the coolest car you like but it sure will be an experience you will never have elsewhere, well, for the moment. If you want to learn more about it, you can click here to get the full detail. So you think Paris is behind in technologies? Well, think again :)
