Picto what?

Monsters are in town!  Graphic monsters, that is.  They have been invading the new French modern art centre Gaîté Lyrique for a week now and will be here with us for a couple more weeks still until December 31st.  Yes, they are the Pictoplasma, graphical design characters who were born out of the digital era creation and imagination.  This homage to the famous Berlin festival is more than just an exhibition with shows, projections and numerous installations through 60 artworks in wood, metal and even knitted yarn!  A cool and extraordinary exhibition where Gaîté Lyrique juxtaposes digital imageries and actual physical creatures to show the passage from something as flat as the sketch board, to a digital existence of the creatures.  The three themes presented are: Digital Monsters, Post-Digital Monsters and The Pictoplasma artists (such as FriendsWithYou, AJ Fosik, Nina Braun, etc).  It's a great place to spend an afternoon together for BIG and small kids who are not afraid to meet funky looking new friends!
