Quirky Rookie

What makes someone a rookie?  Well, it's usually someone new and inexperienced.  This might not be quite the case with Tavi Gevinson, the popular 15-year-old Style Rookie who was invited and sitting at the front row at the Christian Dior haute couture show and many others in New York, London, Milan and Paris.  She has that quirky style that makes her the talk of the town all over fashion magazines.  She reminds us so much of Little J Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl who doesn't care what others think of her but can be a sweetheart when she wants to be as well.  Maybe that's why people love her? Let's look at some of her styles here, shall we?

She is only 15 so it's understandable the rebellious teenage BLACK / Gothic phase look.  Her leggings are kinda cute with those Virgin Mary prints but the look reminds us a bit of Chucky's bride! (Tavi probably wasn't even born when that movie came out) LOL
This is probably what most mothers would like to see how their little girls dressed like - sweet, girly, princessy.  Tavi paired it up with a T that says "BOY" and a plaid skirt - an ironic style message which shows her maturity to use fashion to make a political statement.
This is another funky shabby chic look from the stylish rookie.  She looks like a mad woman with her facial expression but accessorized with a contrast - is that a tiara or an ash tray?
OMG, is this a cartoon character style? So cute with that blue wig and those colourful leggings and top.  However, we think it's probably a look that's perfect for Halloween that's coming up soon in a month!  If you have no idea what to dress up as this year, why not dressed up as the Style Rookie?!
This is more of today's trendy minimalist look (and rare) style from the Style Rookie.  It has that old little ballet girl look with that braided hair and high waist skirt in a black/white photo.  But this is definitely a satirical look from Tavi coz it's just not her (and we guess hence that facial expression).  She sure is a funky quirky Rookie!
