Couture 101: La MARINière

La Marinière, the typical French sailor T-shirt, has been around fashion scenes for centuries.  It's known to the French as the signature shirt from the Brittany (Bretagne in French) region and it's very trendy again in the last few seasons especially for women.  If you are on a tight budget, you can always make your own sailor shirt.  All you need is
  • A longsleeve/shortsleeve T
  • A jar of garment paint with your favourite colour
  • A roll of masking tape
  • A ruler
  • A lot of PATIENCE and IMAGINATION!!
And voilà!
If you don't know how to do it nor want to do it alone, why not ask a couple of girlfriends to do it together.  It's fun, fashionable and a great way to get a personalized T.  Have fun!

Here is a simple video to show you how.  Click here if you can't see it.
